Our Section Camps are designed to "take the lode off" the Outposts. We try to have at least 3 Discovery/Adventure Camps a year as well as 1 Ranger Kids Camp. It is our desire for the Discovery/Adventure Camps to be Merit Camps so that the boys have a better opportunity to complete the requirements for the Gold Medal of Achievement, one of the highest achievements in the Royal Ranger Program. Outposts can take advantage of the Section camps to provide the opportunity for their boys to earn 7-12 merits a year in addition to the Merits earned in the Outpost Meetings. This allows more flexibility at the Outpost meetings to spend more time and attention on the other merits and other activities and still keep up with the number of Merits required for Advancements.
